Drake Confirms Aaliyah Project and Aaliyah’s Family Is Not Supporting It!

Previously, this has been one of the main stories music sites have been discussing and has partly been controversial. Even though Aaliyah’s brother has stated that the family doesn’t know of anything being put in place to have this completed, Drake has confirmed that he is going through with the project and the goal he wants to accomplish from it.

“People should be really excited. A lot of people thought ‘Enough Said’ was my single. It’s not my single. It’s all off of an Aaliyah project that me and 40 are commanding.”

“To get 13-14 new Aaliyah songs, everybody should be excited,” he noted. “It’s not about me. It’s not about 40. It’s about her and her fans and us just getting an opportunity to give you something we feel is great.”

“We’re gonna pull in some classic people,” he shared. “Anybody who used to work with Aaliyah or that was essential in her career, we definitely hope to have them involved.”

Aaliyah family is not taking this to lightly and are pretty upset with Drake going through with the project without there consent. Rashad Haughton told The Guardian:

“There is no official album being released and supported by the Haughton family.”

Timbaland was one of the first people to give his thoughts and opinions about Drake putting together the Aaliyah project, feeling that him and Missy Elliot should be helping with this project since they were the closest to her. Drake has reached out to Timbaland about helping produce the CD. Supposedly Timbaland is to do 2 tracks and his producer “40″ will be doing the rest.

Now I wonder how Timbaland feels about that?
