2 Chainz Album Review From Listening Party
A wise man once said “endurance is a crowning quality, and patience is the passion of a great heart.” This would be a great headliner to a love movie, but in the case of the album release party that was held at “Tree sound” studios in honor of Atlanta based rapper “2 Chainz” the best quote would be, “To beware the fury of a patient man.” Formerly known as “Titty Boi” rapper “2 Chainz” has revamped and revamped not only himself but also his music grind. Removing himself from the underground scene with “DTP records”, and going mainstream with Def Jam Records and is even affiliated with G.O.O.D. Music.
Located a couple miles away from Highway 285, near the end of Peachtree Industrial sits the luxurious building of tree-sound studios. This studio hold a lot of importance to Atlanta being the music mecca that it is right now. Home to many heavy hitters, and platinum records it was to no surprise that the event would take place at this venue. Planned, composed, and executed by the beautiful, yet enthusiastic studio’s General Manager Mali, it was no wonder the event was successful. Everything from the valet services provided, security system, dining, and drinks provided by “Bacardi cherry noir” was pure elegant and professional. With over 200 rsvp’d and invited guests, and many guest appearances such as Neyo, Bobby Valentino, DJ Scream and Kardinal Ofishall the studio soon became full capacity. The ambiance was set as everyone conversed and waited on the arrival of the guest of honor, there was no doubt that it was going to be a good night.
“Truuuuuuuuuuu.” Was the phrase that rang through the building as 2chains stepped on stage. Introduced by producer Groove Chambers of “3 little digs” production, who also co produced a few songs on the up and coming album, he was greeted by a plethora of fans and supporters. With a blunt in the right and a cup in the left, 2 chains graced the stage with a casual 2 step and composed jig, and what seemed to be a permanent smile. Greeted by Def jams CEO he was presented with a gold record for the single with Drake “No Lie”. Soon enough He grabbed the microphone, thanked the fans and began to introduce the first song. As we continued to listen to the track-list you could tell that this album was going to be a force to be reckoned with, each song gave justice to the title because the inspirations according to “2chains” were from a true story. Filled with melodic hooks, and heavy hitting features from the likes of artists John Legend, Mike Posner, Nicki Minaj, Chris Brown, Scarface, Bangladesh, The Dream, and The Weeknd. We were soon only allotted the privilege to sample the rest of the album. It was a successful evening and the album has the potential to be great, not only for the desired audience but for anyone looking for a “Truuuuuuuuuuuuuu” story, so make sure to grab your copy today, or download it off iTunes.
