Yesterday, I had the privilege to attend BMI’s 15th Annual Unsigned Urban Showcase at Terminal West which featured artist Curren$y and was hosted by G.O.O.D. Music’s 1st lady Teyana Taylor. To start off the event, 4 selected finalist for the Unsigned Urban Showcase competed to be crowned BMI’s Unsigned Artist of the Year. Artists competing were Jade Novah, Spree Wilson, Skipper Jones and Dezzy Yates the Phreshbot, which Southside Atlanta artist Skipper Jones came to win. Afterward, BMI’s Vice President personally congratulated DJ Greg Street for his hard work and what he has contributed to Atlanta and the music industry by giving him the Legends of ATL Award.

Also within a sold out venue, celebrities attended were Love & Hip Hop Atlanta’s stars Stevie J. and Joseline Hernandez, rapper Young Jeezy, , producer/songwriter Sean Garrison, Mr. Collipark, rapper Big Sant and more. Also for Curren$y performance, he brought out Def Jam artist Big K.R.I.T. to perform “Glass House”. I must say, Curren$y doesn’t have fans, he truely has SUPPORTERS because I have not seen a crowd show that much love to an artist in a long time, plus when the event was over people almost crushed the media to get to him. LOL! GREAT NIGHT THOUGH!
