joey badass, one musicfest, atlanta, whycauseican

This year marks the 3rd annual event for the One Musicfest and on September 14th, they will make history again as being one of the biggest music events in Atlanta, Georgia. Last year, the event highlighted well-known ARTists such as Marsha Ambrosius, Big K.R.I.T., Eric Roberson, Santigold and Hip-Hop legends such as Big Daddy Kane, Slick Rick MC Lyte and Doug E. Fresh. This year, they’re making sure that last year is a thing of the past as they are bring some ARTists from the new school into play.

One artists everyone should make sure to get to know, if you don’t know they already is a young hip-hop artist by the name of Joey Badass. This 18-year-old hip-hop artist caught many people’s attention when he uploaded a YouTube video at 16 of himself free-styling and shocked many to the point the president of Cinematic Music Group, Jonny Shipes, hit him up via twitter and ended up becoming his manager. Now this is the same dude who manages Big K.R.I.T. and now K.R.I.T. is known as one of the most lyrical rappers, not only in the south, but in the world and is also going on a U.S. tour with Macklemore, Ryan Lewis and Talib Kweli. Getting in the music industry at such a young age, Joey has no other choice but to excel to greatness as he has a team of pure Hip-Hop developers backing him up.

If you don’t know about this young spitta, then I suggest that you come acquainted with who he is now, so that when the One Musicfest comes up in September you’re not looking dumb when everyone is rapping along with the artist and your googling lyrics to songs LOL! Probably a little too much, but you all are coming to understand that this is an artist that you all will want to checkout. Not because he may be famous, but because he represents lyricism and true Hip-Hop and shows that our youth actually has a fighting chances… as long as we support real ARTists.
