Recently HHS1987 sat down with South Carolina native, producer Childish Major for our Behind the Beats segment. Childish Major has been on his grind as a producer for a few years and his biggest single to date, Rocko’s single “UOENO'” captivated the hip-hop community last year and hip-hop heads and labels really started to pay attention to Childish Major’s sound and style.
A year after “UOENO”, Childish Major’s love for music has only growth and he has taken on more as he prepares to take his career to the next level. We sat down with Childish Major to see how things have been and to get an exclusive view of just what he has been working on.
Childish Major informed us of what the reminder of 2014 will look like for him. As the hip-hop community gets set for Jeezy to release his upcoming album “Seen It All” on September 2nd, Childish Major spoke on the four placements he has on the album and how Don Cannon linked him and Jeezy.
Although Childish Major is a South Carolina native, he has spent the last few years in Atlanta and he has formed a brotherhood with Atlanta hip-hop crew Two 9. Childish Major spoke on his relationship with Two 9, their recent success signing to Mike Will Made It’s Ear Drummers Records and some new material we can look out for from Two 9.
Before wrapping up, Childish Major gave us some insight on a new project he is working on with hip-hop artist Matik Estrada and advice he received from Pharrell Williams. Childish Major is trying his hand at developing talent and also branding himself as an artist.
