This year is definitely going to come as a surprise to many. Even though each year, for the past 5 years, Jay Z, Dr. Dre and Diddy have been in a competing battle to claim number one as Forbes Wealthiest Hip-Hop Artist, this year it will show that it is always good to invest in more. As Dr. Dre came out at the top 2014 after Beats sold to Apple, Diddy reclaims the title on the Forbes list. How you ask?
From multiple investments and his part in Diageo ’s Ciroc vodka, clothing lines Sean John and Enyce, alkaline water brand Aquahydrate, DeLeon tequila and his multimedia network Revolt has him clocking at $735 million. Dr. Dre built up nicely with the sale of Beats, but will still sit in 2nd place this year with $700 million. In 3rd, Jay Z comes in with a total of $550 million with 50 Cent and Birdman at 4th and 5th with $155 million and $150 million.
