On July 24, Straight Outta Compton headed from Detroit to Atlanta to hold a private screening of the movie with cast members O’Shea Jackson Jr., Corey Hawkins and Jason Mitchell, plus director F. Gary Gray (Set It Off, Friday, The Italian Job), producer Ice Cube and executive producer Will Packer.
For the event it was a star studded attraction as it brought many know celebrities to get the first viewing of the Straight Outta Compton movie. Special guest included Usher, 2 Chainz, B.o.B., Ludacris, David Banner, Da Brat, Atlanta’s Major Kasim Reed and many more.
In 1987, five young men, using brutally honest rhymes and hardcore beats, put their frustration and anger about life in the most dangerous place in America into the most powerful weapon they had: their music.
Taking us back to where it all began, Straight Outta Compton tells the true story of how these cultural rebels—armed only with their lyrics, swagger, bravado and raw talent—stood up to the authorities that meant to keep them down and formed the world’s most dangerous group, N.W.A. And as they spoke the truth that no one had before and exposed life in the hood, their voice ignited a social revolution that is still reverberating today.
I’m not gonna reveal to much until I do a full movie review when the movie releases, but trust me when I say that this movie is definitely worth seeing in the big screen and definitely about to top the box office. Many people know the story N.W.A., but to see what they went though and how many people were able to grow because of this group is amazing. Also RIGHT NOW is the best time for the movie to drop especially with police brutality is coming a epidemic in America.
