Bally is delighted to announce a collaboration with world renowned Roc Nation recording artist J. Cole. An exclusive pair of hiking boots and backpacks – in a range of colours and materials, will be available as part of the collaboration, which was influenced by the notion of an ‘urban explorer’.
The brand’s expertise in crafting hiking boots dates back to the 1950s. Bally created the ‘Reindeer-Himalaya’ boots that were worn by Sherpa Tenzing Norgay as he accompanied Sir Edmund Hilary to become the first people to conquer Mount Everest. Fast forward to the new millennium and this version of the hiking boots still serve as a hallmark for exceptional design and comfort, but reincarnated to traverse various terrains; from cityscapes to the lush expanse of Jamaica’s Blue Mountains.
The hiking boots are available crafted in supple leather, suede or exotic python in mustard, grey, bone, moka, cherry, tan, caper and grey, whilst the durable, water-resistant backpack is available in black and caper.
J.Cole went off grid to Jamaica escaping the constant need for connection to technology – which has become our norm, and created a short film with producer BBGUN, that captures his journey through Jamaica and the connections he makes with his surroundings. During the film he wears the hiking boots and backpack from the collaboration. Additionally, in support of the collaboration J.Cole will produce exclusive videos and photography to accompany the launch.
“I always had an interest in what goes into designing footwear. Fortunately, the opportunity presented itself and I got the chance to work with such a well-respected brand with a long history of making product of the highest quality. When I learned more about the company’s past and was able to see their archives of boots going back over a 100 years, it excited me even more.” – J.Cole
