Tuesday afternoon, Atlantic Records and I Am Other presented the private listening session for El Southside mixtape, the latest Gangsta Grillz project from rap artist Kap G, in Atlanta, GA. Held at the acclaimed Means Street Studios, an intimate number of DJ’s, music execs and media were invited for an afternoon of conversation, drinks, food and music hosted by DJ Drama. As guests indulged on the taco bar provided by Chef Petey, Kawan “KP” Prather (Head of Music, I Am Other) took the floor to introduce Kap G to the crowd. As Kap thanked the guests for all the support, he premiered his latest music videos for “Power” ft. TIG artist YFN Lucci and “Fashion Show”, which had the crowd dancing and singing along.

As everyone made their way in to the main studio room to listen to the mixtape, DJ Drama shared some words of encouragement for Kap G while making a toast to the success of ‘El Southside’ and for what’s in store for the 21 year old College Park native. “Man, I have to thank my team for pushing me through this project, ‘El Southside’. We put in a lot of work making this so we’re just appreciative to the DJ’s that came out and showed love, gave feedback and kicked it. We want to do a lot more of these kick backs to really get a chance to meet and connect with people and see what this, Kap G “El Southside” campaign is all about. I gotta give it up to DJ Drama for making this project a Gangsta Grillz tape… It’s kinda crazy when I think about it. Man, I’m just blessed”, stated Kap G.

Although the entire mixtape received great response, DJs and female guests claim “Girlfriend” to be the summer hit and “Power” is the song that they need for the club right now. As the listening session came to an end, everyone was gifted with Kap’s signature “Que Pasa Homes” merchandise and personalized cupcakes with his cover art on top provided by Sweet Shot Cupcakes.
