As always, Summertime become a music filled, action movie blockbuster season and to add to it this year is J Cole’s new album, “Born Sinner”, which is set to be released on June 18th and now he has released the covers visuals for his album. In a recent, interview with MTV and spoke on the concept of the cover.
”It’s not necessarily a church theme and it’s not really about church. I like my album themes to be metaphors because it gives me the freedom to speak about something else that’s going on in my life, so the Born Sinner thing is not about church, it’s not even about religion. It’s using that as canvas to get other messages across and that’s what the album will be.”
Are you in Atlanta and have been trying to weed out which music events really have industry elites that are out wanting to network, listening to good music and discover new artists? Then let me make this a little bit easier for you when it comes to one rapidly rising event held by Writing Sessions America titled, “UNPLUGGED”, hosted by Fort Knox, Lady B and Kevin Shine. This is not an artist showcase where artist perform in front of other artists, or a networking mixer filled all with artists and producers all trying to receive some type of guidance. This event places selected songwriters and producers on a panel to display their work to a crowd of music lovers, plus holds a discussion panel of ACTUAL music elites that debate and give knowledge on what is needed in the music industry and holds another panel of published writers and producers who are making it in the music industry.
So for this event, you don’t have to try to figure out who people are, they’re placed on a panel for you to learn from and also mingle in the crowd as the event goes on. BUT one thing you have to make sure you do is TALK! Don’t sit on the wall, NETWORK find out what others are doing at the event as well, because you will be very surprised by who you may meet.

On May 6th, Makin It Magazine’s held there monthly networking mixer at iLounge for, “Music Monday’s” and this month’s special guest to perform was Grand Hustle’s own Young Dro. You know an event is great when you’re still able to pack out a house when it raining in Atlanta and Makin It Mag definitely made sure to do that. Also for the event, their were special performances by @Rogizz and @ScootyWoot and special honors for Manny “Maddog” Ayala himself and we all celebrated the release of Digi Mob Ent’s “Still On Papers” mixtape.

Hmmm, if looking at this in an artist mind state I would say that Mac Miller wants to give all of himself to listening fans. For his sophomore album, “Watching Movies With The Sound Off”, Mac Miller sits at a dinner table with a red background and is completely naked, except for the parental advisory being in the much-needed area. I hope this isn’t a sign of the effects from listening to the album, but due to come out June 18.
